This is a beginner course (P1+2). After this you can sign up for the intermediate course (P3, 7 days). After P3, you are a certified solo pilot. You can buy your own gear and fly.

But it still takes experience to understand the sport and fly completely independently. We recommend flying under the guidance of an instructor till at least 10 hrs of flying experience.

We would suggest signing up for the beginner course first to understand if you feel comfortable with the sport. Then you can extend to P3 on the spot if you are enjoying it.

P3 takes another 7-10 days, after completing P1+2.

Not a problem, most of our participants are solo travellers. If you need a personal room, it's INR 4000 extra for the duration of the course. Or else, you can opt for twin sharing & the price will remain our standard price.

Meals aren't a part of the course. But Bir has plenty of options from cafes to local Tibetan dhabas where you can buy a meal from Rs.50-300. We will give you recommendations on where to eat.

Usually it is low risk for beginners. Risks come when you start flying advanced techniques like thermalling/cross country etc.

But you have to be very good in following instructions when you're up in the sky. A bad landing is rare, but can happen if you mess up. It could lead to injuries like a fracture if you're very off.

Having said that, most students do it without any issue. But eventually, it is an adventure sport and comes with its own risks

Do you have a phobia? Eg- when you look down from a terrace, do you feel vertigo and nausea?

If yes, then better to avoid the course. Because if you panic when you're alone in the air, there will be no one beside you. You have to be in your senses to follow instructions given on the radio.

The best way to reach is by taking a flight to Dharamshala. We will pick you up from the airport.

In case you can't find a feasible flight to Dharamshala, then you can fly to Chandigarh/ Delhi and take an overnight Volvo bus directly to Bir.

Try to reach on Day 1 by noon. Your classes will start on 3pm on Day 1.

Do try to keep your return plan flexible if possible.

Because there could be days of bad weather that doesn't permit flying. In that case, we will be happy to extend the course by 1-2 days so that you can complete it. Only accommodation will be extra per night.

September to December & Feb to April are great months to learn paragliding in Bir. Flying pauses from end-Dec to mid-Feb due to snowfall.

Yes you can, but not for your first few flights. Since the lines can get caught in your GoPro mount and cause a safety issue.

If your instructor feels confident in your skills, then he may allow you to take the camera. Or else you will have to do with videos from fellow participants.

No photos and videos aren't included in the course. The instructors will be focusing on learning & safety. Usually participants help each other by clicking videos. You can ask fellow participants to record take-off and landing.

Yes. You will get a P1+2 (or P1+2+3) pilot certification from Bir Paragliding Association.

Every country has their own flying regulatory body. We follow the certification system of US flying association, accredited by the Bir Paragliding Association. Internationally, anyone who's into paragliding will know what P123 means.

No. This is just a beginner course. To become an instructor, you need a minimum of 2 years of flying experience.

You can buy a second hand glider for around INR 1.5L and new one for INR 3L.
