Paraglide Beginner's Course

INR 29,500 | 7 DAYS

7 days of paragliding training with gear, instruction, accommodation & airport pickup from Dharamshala airport.

Includes 4-6 solo flights of 10-20 minutes each.

Learn to fly in the world's 2nd highest paragliding site.


Day 1- Reach Dharamshala, drive to Bir & settle in. Meet your instructor for your first lesson. Learn parts of the glider, how to wear harness and learn glider control on the ground.

Day 2-3- Head to landing site again. Practice glider control and take off techniques on the ground. Learn about winds and meteorology.

Day 4- Perfect the take off technique. Get briefing for your first solo flight and practise simulation. 

Day 5- It's time for your first solo flight. Drive to Billing (take-off site), understand radio handling and get ready to fly. Complete 2 solo flights with radio assistance on take-off and landing. 

Day 6-7- Time for some more flying. Complete 2 solo flights everyday (based on weather conditions). 


Day 8- Pack bags and bid goodbye to Bir. Drive to Dharamshala airport with some great memories, flying videos that will make anyone jealous and most important, a new hobby that will stay with you for life :)


A typical day of paragliding is from 11am-5pm. You can buy lunch around the landing site. Note- Timing is highly volatile and subject to local wind condition.


Post paragliding, get back to the hotel, refresh and spend the evening walking around the Tibetan colony of Bir. Enjoy a meal of momos and thukpa, explore monasteries, or simply hang around. There are plenty of cafes serving great food and some with live music too :)


Frequently asked questions

How safe is paragliding?

Paragliding is safer than you think. However, it is an adventure sport and comes with its own risks. It is important to follow safety guidelines and listen to your instructor.

Will I be paragliding alone?

Your instructor and other students will be learning with you on the ground.
But you will be flying solo and will thoroughly enjoy the experience. Your instructor will be with you on the radio and give you constant commands.

I have children. Can they paraglide?

Yes. Children above 14 years of age are eligible to learn and fly solo too. However, they must be accompanied by an adult.

What is the closest airport?

Bir is 2 hours away by road from Dharamshala airport.

How fit do I have to be?

If you can run 100 metres without any problem, you can paraglide. Participants who are generally healthy and without any serious medical condition can sign up for the course. Individuals with fear of heights and vertigo should avoid.


Price details

1. Price mentioned is per person for a minimum of 2 persons. If you are travelling solo or in a big group, call us and we will customise the price.

2. Accommodation included is on twin sharing basis in a standard hotel. Basic facilities like running hot water will be provided. It is possible to upgrade accommodation at an additional cost.

Cancellation Policy

We offer a full refund in case of govt imposed restrictions. If you cancel due to personal reasons, then we charge as follows-
-INR 500 pp if cancelled 2 weeks before
-INR 2000 pp if cancelled 7 days before
-INR 3500 pp if cancelled 2 days before
-INR 5000 pp if cancelled after
